
Learning Task 1: Note-taking Conventions and Abbreviations
PART A: Before working in your group's Google Document, watch the video below. On a piece of paper or in a Word Document, write down what you think the main ideas of the video are -- what tips does the video offer for taking good notes?
PART B: Create a second page in your group's Google Document. Write down your notes from the video. Compare them to your group members' notes. Did you all write down the same things? If you did not, is it because you are missing information, or is it because you tried to write down too much information?
PART C: With your group, brainstorm some abbreviations and symbols that you could use in your note-taking. We will look at each group's Google Document in our next class and discuss these abbreviations.
