Teaching Context
This learning module is designed for English for Academic Purposes (EAP) learners, and aims to teach valuable note-taking skills needed for university. The design of this module is based on a hypothetical class and hypothetical curriculum, as I am not currently teaching at the moment. Thus, this project has been aimed toward a possible future teaching context, as I do not plan to return to my past teaching context (teaching elementary EFL learners) after the completion of my MEd program.
Thus, this module is for learners at the college or university level, of stage two intermediate ability, specifically CLB 7 to 8. It will be taught in a class where the main objectives include learning to take notes on main ideas and basic supporting details from listening and reading excerpts.
This module is intended to provide online support for in-class instruction and is not a complete substitute for this instruction. Certain supporting materials are therefore not included in this website, as they will be introduced and covered in an in-class environment.
